Hello everyone. My name is Alex Roark and I live in Cambridge City. I'm brand new to the Amateur Radio community. I got my Technician class license about a month ago, on April 17th. I don't have a radio, so I haven't been on the air yet, but I'm currently saving up for a good, cheap HT. Until I find one, I'll continue monitoring the N9EYG Repeater with my Uniden Bearcat scanner.

Aside from Ham Radio, another one of my hobbies is tracking and recording thunderstorms. I've been fascinated by storms ever since I can remember. Especially by the way tornadoes work. The power and wonder of tornadoes interests me so much, I plan on being a storm chaser one day. I'd say that's been my dream ever since I saw Twister for the first time 12 years ago.

I also enjoy DXing for TV and DTV signals. My interest in this arose when I got my first TV, which came with a set of rabbit ears, at 9-years-old and pulled in stations from Lexington, Kentucky one clear night. I didn't know how or why, but I was very fascinated to learn I was receiving channels from well over 100 miles away! Although I've been TV DXing for about eight years, it wasn't until four years ago that I learned it was a hobby that many others partake in!

Anyway, I look forward to getting more involved with the HCARC and getting to better know the local hams!
